Stephen King is one of the world's leading horror and thriller writers, responsible for such greats as THE SHINING, STAND BY ME and CARRIE. The acclaimed feature THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION recently topped IMDb’s best 250 films ever.
We have permission to adapt Stephen King's short thriller MUTE. This is the first time that Mr King has given permission for one his stories to be set and filmed entirely in the UK. We aim to create a high quality and visually stunning film to screen at major film festivals across the world including CANNES, SUNDANCE, EDINBURGH, BERLIN and VENICE.
MUTE has been funded through various fundraising activities including crowd-funding.
Patrick can currently be seen in THE KING'S SPEECH. Patrick has acted in British television shows since the 1970s. His credits include THE PROFESSIONALS, MINDER, RUMPOLE OF THE BAILEY, and DOCTOR WHO.
Michael is an award-winning actor currently playing Tipper Malone in the BBC series OUTCASTS. He is best-known for playing Frank McCourt in Alan Parker's ANGELA'S ASHES. Michael was also a regular in SHAMELESS and DREAM TEAM.
Jacqueline Wright, Director
Jacqueline is an award-winning director of television, short films and pop promos. She has worked extensively with writer-comedienne Alice Lowe and in 2010 the pair made 12 short films, one each month of the year (www.jackalfilms.co.uk/calendar). Jacqueline is currently attached to two feature projects, and is also writing her first feature, a comedy horror. Jacqueline’s credits include OUT OF WATER, funded by the UK Film Council, LIFESPAM for the BBC and STIFFY, a dark romantic comedy which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
Davide Cinzi, Cinematographer
Davide has worked on several short films, promos, and commercials. His recent credits include the short film PHOTOS OF GOD which was selected for the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival. Davide's graduation film, THE CONFESSION, which has been admired for the quality of its cinematography, was nominated for an Oscar 2011.
Gemma Rigg, Writer/Producer
Gemma’s recent credits include THE CONSTANT FATHER, screened in over 20 international film festivals and nominated 'best screenplay', and INDOORS currently doing the festival circuit. She recently graduated with an MA in Screenwriting (dist.)
Hugh is currently filming THE IRON LADY alongside Meryl Streep. Hugh's other film credits include TRAINSPOTTING, CHARLOTTE GRAY, PATRIOT GAMES and DORIAN GRAY.
